This part of the site is still under construction.
A recent letter published in the ASHA Leader
(April 11, 2006) stated in part:
"ASHA's suggestions to readers for low-cost CEU's have
always involved "groups" or co-workers. For those of us who are stay-at-home
moms, this suggestion is not an option. ASHA should consider us
(stay-at-home-moms) when offering up suggestions for free/low-cost CEU's . .
. "
Right. We couldn't have said it any better. So,
here's our plan. Anyone can listen to any of the podcasts posted on this site,
at no cost and for whatever reason. BUT our idea is that people interested in
obtaining CEU's for listening would also be able to do so.
We are in the process of getting this idea approved
for ASHA CEU's. We anticipate that it would work something like this, but this
isn't a promise:
CEU's would be offered through Truman State
University for a minimum of 1 hr units (.1 CEU). A person would need to pay a
fee, listen to a group of 4 podcasts (about 15 minutes each) and submit the
evaluation form for each podcast to obtain .1 CEU. At this time, we don't
know how much the fee will be. We are trying to keep it low!
At first, the podcasts will be grouped to keep the
paperwork simple (e.g., 1-4, 5-8, etc). Eventually, it may be possible to pick and choose just the
ones you want to listen to and still apply for CEU's.
More on this soon, we hope . . .
